Three is a Magic Number
Which is the hardest update to commit to? The first one, since that’s the first step? So many projects don’t even get that far. Or maybe it’s the second update, since that commits you to the idea of updating at all. Maybe it’s the third update that’s the hardest, since that establishes a pattern; a schedule.
Actually, it’s none of the above. The hardest update is always the next one. Without the next update, the whole enterprise stalls, and momentum is lost. Still, here’s update #3. Episode 3 of Phase I is up.4 and 5 are in the can, ready for next week and the week after. And I really ought to get on with #6…
Part 2
The annotations for part 2 of Phase 1 are here. Also, the Characters page has been divided up; each character now gets their own page. More refinements to follow as and when they’re ready, but I’ll try to keep updates restricted to the weekly update schedule. Still trying to find the site’s shape, beyond just the annotations.
Site Launched
I now declare this annotations website open. May the dark gods bless it, and every spider that crawls on it.
Under Construction Alright, yes, under construction.
Time was, everyone’s site had some notice advising readers that the site was under construction, as if it was ever going to be truly finished. It was almost offensively redundant, the irritation compounded by the addition of an animated gif, usually of a road sign, a flashing light, a few sawhorses; you get the idea.
But I feel I have to say those two words here. Why? The site will never really be finished, but there is a point where it’ll be ready for launch. Where I’ll be able to post weekly updates and not have to worry about the rest of the structure. I’m not quite at that stage yet. Hence the lack of ’come and get it’ announcements on social media.
